We are web design and seo consultants here in Thailand and have put together private courses for expats to learn at our office or from their own homes.

Does this sound like a good idea? Seeing as there are so many exotic and also cheap products here in Thailand that you can put on the internet , wouldn't it be great if you could learn to create and manage your own website here in Thailand?

Macromedia's free Tutorial are great but I always find that if you pay to learn you learn quicker plus you have a professional sat at the side of you letting you know when You've gone wrong.

In our collective 14 years of web design and seo experience we have never paid for advertising and our site sits at the top of google as you will see for yourselves.

Type in dreamweaver lessons Bangkok on google and the first unsponsored site that you'll come acroos is ours. Click on Mark A Smith at the bottom to contact us.

We get students from Koh Phangan, Koh Samui, Phuket, Laos, Nong Kai and Malaysia and even have enquiries from the middle east but a bit far to go for a private lesson.

Sex and the city and many other tv programs are available at BritishTVabroad"dot"com ...There is a TV revolution taking place in the UK with now 40 channels of Brit tv on the internet. BBC,ITV,Ch4,Ch5,Sky etc.
until now was only available in the UK ....all you need is Broadband internet.
We've now some customers in Thailand and they told us about this forum.

Student moving to Thailand

sounds like you need the educational visa. very difficult to find work here, the work permit and visa requirements are an uphill battle and constant source of headaches.

you can probably find a studio type apartment around bkk for 10,000 per month and up. there are probably 30 different rental websites devoted to bkk accommodations so google will be a big help to you. once you get your teaching degree you won't find it very difficult to get teaching work but you will find it difficult to live here on a teachers salary.

change of visa

if you want to be here on anything other than a tourist visa you will need to apply at the thai consulate or embassy in your home country, or if you are already in thailand, you will need to leave and go to penang, phnom phen, vientienne etc in order to apply for a non immigrant visa/educational visa/retirement visa etc

you cannot change your tourist visa to anything else while you are here in thailand.

hello, i'm a property manager here on koh samui and i'd advise you to look into every expat forum/website/publication you can find in order to give you an idea of what each different part of thailand would be like for living.

between chiang mai, bkk, pattaya (wouldn't advise this one if you are married with a 3yr old), phuket and koh samui each have very active expat communities that will offer a wealth of information to help you make your decision.

personally, i'd place a very high emphasis on a 3 yr old child as they are about to begin schooling in a very foreign environment it is important that you ensure that any particular location in thailand that you may choose to live will be able to accommodate, educate and help your child grow.

here on koh samui we have the samui expats club with a web address at www.samuiexpatsclub.com and they meet once each month with up to 100 farangs and thais getting together to enjoy a night out socializing.

if possible, try narrowing down your search to two or three possible places, if you are planning on working here make sure you are familiar with the work permit and visa process. bkk, chiang mai, phuket and samui are probably the top "family" style destinations (pattaya is strictly adult entertainment regardless of any ad campaigns to the contrary) so you might find work in any of those places.

right now i would probably think that chiang mai and koh samui are probably the two best family agreeable places to live with reasonably decent costs of living.

My 19 year old daughter really needs to make some english speaking friends so I can get her out of my hair!
