I am looking for advice regarding relocating to Thailand Bangkok and would be very grateful of any directive anyone has to offer.

I have been offered a position with a manufacturing company with head office based in Bangkok. I am currently based in Hong Kong married with 1 child age 9 and hold a UK passport

I am considering the package I should look for and would be most grateful for any recommendations for current costs of housing, international schooling fees and visa issues etc.

Anyone with experience in these areas or any other relevant tips or information I would appreciate your comments.

Cheers Mark

living in thailand is cheaper than hong kong.

basic three bedroom houses start from 10k baht

you will need a work permit and working visa - if you have an employer it's not a problem

I wouldn't bet my money on a 10K three bedrooms house, especially in BKK, unless you prefer a bamboo hut with no security. Townhouse rental can run from 8K (suburb area 20km+ from BKK) to 22K in city townhome.

On the other hand, Bangkok offers a very wide range of living cost. Meal can run as cheap as 0.50 USD / bowl of noodle or as high as 250K USD / dinner. Its all up to your lifestyle and taste.

School wise, Bkk got British / American and even Tri-lingual school system to offer to all nationality of expat. Ofcourse, they are vary in quality and tuition fee. Basically it starts from 300K - 500K (bht) / semester.
