| My wife and I are going to build a traditional Thai house near her family home in North Thailand. Can anyone suggest architects or designers? Actually, any advice about building in Thailand would be appreciated. |

i and together with me numerous expatriates living here in chiang mai have done this before and have had very very bad experiences with local builders. its problematic and would recommend you buying something thats already built.
If that does not work, may i suggest you come to chiang mai. Rent a house for sometime and get to know some of the builders here. Please do PM me when you have done that and perhaps I can recommend some to you. But please do consider buying something first.
Also please be aware of the laws here regarding ownership of land by a foreigner.
