Hi
My husband is taking up a position in Colombo beg May and I would like to know where the best location to live with children would be. If anyone has any information on hospitals for child birth then that would be great too.
Thanks, N. |

Hi Nicola
for housing, colombo and the suburbs have quite a good selection for expats. though you may want to base your decision on proximity to work place and schools for kids (if any) as traffic can be bad and public transport would def be a no no. perhaps the company hiring your husband might be the best to recommend you housing. with more and more expats moving to SL there are quite a few houses, apartments, etc being constructed specially with your needs in mind.
as for hospitals, well my first suggestion would be appolo hospital but there are a number of private hospitals and maternity homes that are good. however you may want to first find the doctor you are comfortable with. there are quite a few top names that can be recommended. once you get there and build up a circle of friends, i am sure you will find quite a number to choose from
all the best. hope you have a great stay! |
