Hi All,
Warning in advance i do not write small amounts!
I have just graduated from University and I was in Sri Lanka during the summer of 2008 doing a research project for my thesis. Whilst in Sri Lanka I organised several charity events that was in conjunction with my research. I am a sports coach, and the research i conducted was for my thesis: How can the lessons of social inclusion and sports development in the UK inform policy and practice in Sri Lanka?
I fell in love with the people, the culture and obviously the weather. I have friends that live out there (both ex-pats and natives) and recently i was given the chance to do some work with Saunders Football Club (The most successful Soccer team on the Island) which involved playing and coaching. However, this is unpaid work and i don’t mind that because i would also have time for a fulltime job that would pay for my basic needs.
So the job hunt begins... im not fussy! Im hard working and looking to do office based work or ideally teaching English. I have a good 2:1 degree and a 1st for my thesis. I love coaching and working with children but the three schools that I and my girlfriend have applied for have ended in nothing! What are the next steps! I and my friends are running out of ideas fast! I know i can develop the sport in Colombo and i have great support and foundations to build on, however, without a paying job me and my girlfriend can't go anywhere!
Please help or if you want more details please contact me
God Bless
