Hi everyone
I read your message on Allo' Expat South Korea. Maybe we can offer you an opportunity to get to know new people. We are a hikingclub, which is started by an Irish lady, Sheelagh Conway, together with Annie a Korean woman and Hank Chay and Jeong Ho Park to Koreans who teach English. Sheelagh left the club recently to return to Ireland, and Colleen Mackey has taken over her place as a coordinator. The hikingclub has about 85 members and we meet each other every Saturday. The nationalities are various, from Canadians, to Russians, South Africans, Koreans, Belgians etc... At the moment everyone is allowed to join us. Most of the times we go for a hike and afterwards we have dinner. If you should be interested, hereby you find the information about our next hike. If you would like to stay informed about our next activities just mail me and I put you on the contactlist. Just be sure to give me some information like your name and phonenumber to add to the list.
Friendly greetings
Anita Berghmans (Belgian)
This Saturday, September 23rd we will hike on Inwang Mountain.
Thanks to all who attended the farewell hike and dinner for Sheelagh Conway, co-founder of Seoul International Hikers, who is returning to Ireland after ten years in Korea. And thanks, as always, to Park Jeong-ho for leading the hike.
How to get there: Line 3, Gyeongbokgung Station, Exit 3
Where we meet: Inside Gyeongbokgung Station, near Exit 3 (then we will take a bus together)
When: 1:00 pm, Saturday, September 23rd
What we will do: Hike on Inwangsan and have a meal afterwards.
Cost: Each person will pay for their own meal, and for any admission costs.
If you have a chance please email sihclub@gmail.com if you plan to attend, or contact Colleen at 010 2660 1121 or
Park Jeong-ho 016 246 9261 before Saturday afternoon, so we have an idea of how many people plan to attend.
Consider taking our numbers with you in case you are delayed.
Please wear proper hiking footwear.
Cancellation policy: We will not cancel hikes due to inclement weather. Coordinators of the hikes will go to the meeting place and we will try to arrange an alternative activity (likely cultural in nature) if hiking is not possible. You are, of course, not obligated to attend.
Thanks for your interest,
Seoul International Hikers Coordinators |
