On Saturday, December 16th, we will go for a hike on Bonghwasan . Bonghwasan is located in Jungrang-gu, the eastern area of Seoul, and has a few beacon mounds at the top of the mountain, like Namsan. Near the peak it has a shaman shrine which performs rituals on March 3rd and June 6th. In spite of being a small mountain, Bonghwa has a lot of trails for comfortable and easy hikes.
How to get there: Line 6, Hwarangdae station (646), take Exit 7.
Where we meet: Inside the exit 6, the same place where we met to hike Bulam mountain.
When: 1:00 pm , Saturday, December 16th. Since this trail will not take long we will meet at 1:00 pm.
What we will do: Hike on Bonghwasan, and have a meal somewhere near the mountain afterwards.
Cost: Each person will pay for their own meal.
You may check how long the subway ride will take at Cyber Station, www.smrt.co.kr.
If you have a chance please email sihclub@gmail.com if you plan to attend, or contact Colleen Mackey at 010 2660 1121, Hank Chay at 010 8423 0123, Jeong-ho Park 016 246 9261 before Saturday afternoon, so we have an idea of how many people plan to attend.
Consider taking our numbers with you in case you are delayed.
Please wear proper hiking footwear.
Cancellation policy: We will not cancel hikes due to inclement weather. Coordinators of the hikes will go to the meeting place and we will try to arrange an alternative activity (likely cultural in nature) if hiking is not possible. You are, of course, not obligated to attend.
Thanks for your interest,
