Do not use the Laundry Lodge for your dry cleaning needs under any circumstance!!!!!

Outlets to avoid listed at their website (google: thelaundrylodge)

My saga began about four months ago when I dropped my custom made tailored suit jacket (purchased in Bangkok for USD350) at the Laundry Lodge at Raffles MRT. When I collected it a week later I realised that the jacket I received was not mine. Instead I had been given a G2000 labelled jacket.

I returned to the outlet and was told that it would take 4 weeks for them to search all their outlets to try and locate my jacket.

4 weeks passed and I was then told by the girl at the Raffles MRT outlet I would have to make a claim on their insurance. She provided me a contact name of Vincent Tan who is the manager of the Laundry Lodge. I rang Vincent who surprisingly told me that a claim had already been submitted for USD600 and that I would not receive any payment until they had processed the claim. It was expected to take 6 weeks.

A few days later I became suspicious about what he had told me so I called him back. After all, at this stage they only had my first name and phone number - not really enough to make a claim with! None of the calls I made were answered using my own hand phone. I eventually got to speak to someone at the Laundry Lodge head office who told me that Vincent Tan no longer worked at the company (in hindsight the person I spoke to sounded remarkably like Vincent Tan with a fake Chinese accent)

I retuned to the Raffles MRT outlet and spoke with the lady there. By now I was getting very upset at the run around I was getting, so I demanded she call Vincent Tan on her phone. He then spoke with me and agreed to meet me the following day at 2pm at the Raffles MRT outlet.

The following day I arrived at 2pm and an hour later this slob of a man turned up claiming to be Vincent Tan. (I had spent the hour waiting getting angrier and passed the time by telling every customer that came into the shop to drop off some dry cleaning my predicament) I actually managed to turn away a fair amount of business much to the chagrin of the lady working there.

Vincent took my details and a copy of the receipt from my tailor and promised to call me the following day with an insurance claim number. I took down his mobile phone number as well. I got him to look me directly in the eyes and promise me he was going to follow through on what he said he would do.

As expected there was no phone call forthcoming, so I called the number he gave me. The phone was answered by a male who had nothing at all to do with the Laundry Lodge and had never heard of Vincent Tan. I then tried calling on the original number I had been given and no calls were picked up. Finally I used my girlfriends phone and this time he answered. I was really angry and frustrated now and was realising this guy was a lying *”$£”%^. I coaxed his real number out of him which was one digit different from the one he gave me. He said that my best course of action was to send an email to the Laundry Lodge as this will support his claim.
All other future attempts to call him had to be made from separate hand phones as each time he got the number I was using he refused to answer any more calls.

I then sent an email and received a reply from a ‘Sui Ching’ who signed off as a Customer Service Officer. The email apologised for the inconvenience and promised to speak with her boss and process the insurance claim. I was relatively relived – at last someone was taking charge. Over the next few weeks there were a few emails back and forth and then nothing.

I again called the office of the Laundry Lodge and asked to speak with Sui Ching. To my surprise she spoke no English!! This was very strange as the email was relatively coherent. A few days later I had a Chinese friend of mine speak with her and she stated she knew nothing about any emails, had never heard of me and was just an admin girl and would not be handling insurance claims. (My suspicions were aroused again that Vincent was up to his old tricks again) My Chinese friend was given the name of Mr Tan and yet another phone number to contact.

Mr Lee was spoken to and stated that he was a supervisor and Vincent Tan was the manager and his boss. Mr Lee then offered me SGD300 worth of vouchers for compensation to which I agreed. He then stated he would have to check with his boss Vincent Tan. A subsequent phone call to Mr Lee the following day informed me that Vincent Tan had agreed to vouchers worth SGD150.

Two days passed and still no word, so using yet another phone I called Vincent. He stated the last he had heard about my jacket was that Sui Ching was handling the matter. I then told him about my investigations into Sui Ching and he went rather silent. He then said he had heard that I had been offered SGD150 worth of vouchers. It was here that I lost it and called him a lying ^%$*!!

And here the saga has reached – to the pages of this forum for me to warn as many people NOT TO USE THE LAUNDRY LODGE for any dry cleaning. As soon as there is a problem, you can forget receiving any form of support or retribution. In fact, you will be lied to, stalled, treated like a dumb Ang Mo and generally ignored.

My next step is to go to CASE, but I am not at all confident of any results. To be honest it now has nothing to do with my loss (I have replaced the jacket already) it is more a matter of principle that this fat lying rodent feels he can stuff me around and get away with it.

Any other advice, dear readers, would be greatly appreciated.

Yours

Seems you were ripped off twice.. No one pays US$350 for a tailored jacket in Thailand Laughing Laughing

Yes sad when the Laundry lose, or sell your clothes. Then pile on the bullshit.
