Hello everybody,
I´m a cultural anthropologist from Göttingen/Germany and I´m now preparing my fieldwork in Singapore and Malaysia for my PhD-studies.
Thus, I´m searching for people who are interested in cooperating with me. I would like to conduct interviews then, for example.
Who am I exactly searching for? My thesis is about gender identities of female educational migrants from Malaysia in Singapore. So I´m searching for women from Malysia, who originally came to Singapore in order to get (higher) education - at a university, a polytechnic etc. These women should live for a couple of time (a couple of years?) in Singapore already, so that one can talk about transformations in their gender identities. Besides, the women should identify themselves with Malaysia as well as with Singapore, because I want to study transnational processes.
I hope that I can start my fieldwork in Singapore in August 2008. I will stay there for half a year and after that I will conduct fieldwork in Malaysia for half a year - in order to get more informations about the situations and the backgrounds of the Malaysians migrants in their home country.
If you are one of the women I´m searching for or if you know somebody, who could be one of them - and, of course, if you are interested in - don´t hesitate to contact me:

Thanks a lot for your help!
Cheers,
