Anglo-Chinese School
http://www.acs.sch.edu.sg/

In reaffirming the vision and the mission of our Founder, Bishop William F Oldham, we also draw upon past strengths and traditions. The very useful reports on "Towards Excellence in Schools" and "Proposal for an Independent ACS" have been the twin pillars of our philosophy.
This can be summed up in the following:

To create conditions for students to embody excellence.
To establish an environment for spiritual, intellectual and physical growth;
To prepare pupils to meet the challenge of rapid change in society.

As helps, we have used our initials to emphasize the "Academic", "Character" and "Service" asiprations of school life. Others include "an Officer and Gentleman", "The Scholar-Soldier-Citizen" for all and "The Scholar-Officer-Statesman" for others. This is also in keeping with recent challenges like the need to produce leaders for both "Country and Church" and the embarking upon a "Programme for Pre-eminenece".

We have been inspired by the words in the report for the independent school which states "The Wisdom that is being brought to bear on our mission is the belief in an eternal Almighty God who created and cares for the world and its people. We believe that the best Foundation for a fruitful and satisfying life in society is a right relationship that is exemplified by the life, atoning death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Dover Court Preparatory School
http://www.dovercourt.edu.sg

Education is concerned with the cognitive, cultural, moral, spiritual and physical development of all pupils.

At Dover Court we believe that this development is best fostered in an atmosphere where all pupils are respected, trusted, valued and encouraged and in which there is tolerance, care, security, praise and high expectations associated with clear learning goals.

The development of concepts, skills, attitudes and knowledge, which are the goals of the learning process, is facilitated through encouraging pupils to pose and solve problems, take risks, demonstrate responsible attitudes and behaviour, adopt a critical and self-evaluative approach to their work, build upon their own success, make constructional use of failure and reflect upon their experiences.
To this end, we plan for a range of learning styles, pay attention to the quality of the classroom environment and ensure that pupils’ work achievements are valued and celebrated. Pupils in Dover Court experience working individually, collaboratively and in groups which helps them to develop positive personal qualities and attitudes to themselves as learners.

We are aware of each pupil's entitlement to equal opportunities and acknowledge and celebrate the cultural and linguistic diversity within the multi-cultural society of our school.
Value is placed upon the partnership between home and school, and the relationship between the aspirations of the school and those of the wider community.

As a school, we are committed to the importance of each pupil's personal, social and spiritual development and to meeting their needs as unique individuals.

Director of Educational Services.

The Swiss School Singapore is one of the 16 officially recognised schools outside of Switzerland, recognised by Singapore as an official private school. It is supervised by the Canton Zug of Switzerland and a school inspector visits the school and evaluates the teachers regularly. The Canton Zug also provides administrative and financial support to the school.

The Swiss School Association Singapore accomodates students as early as two years of age (Little Tots). Classes run from Little Tots right up to Grade 6. The older students join the United World College for Grade 7 till 9. They have the chance to go for the IB and finish German on A-level. The curriculum is based on that of the Canton Zug as well as that of the United World College of Singapore. This makes it suitable for a smooth transfer either back to Switzerland or to another school in an English speaking country.
The classes for the Little Tots, the Playgroups and the Kindergarten are conducted in English. All the other classes are conducted in German with the emphasis on English.
