Hello--
I will be entering the PI on Sept 8 and my Flilipina fiancee and I plan to be married on Oct 14. She is completing a graduate degree program thru next October 2006 in Zambo. Of course we plan to live together and have already secured a house there.
It appears to me that I will first need a 39 day extension, and then of course also need to apply for my 13a visa (and hopefully assure it is awarded without diffculty).
She and I will be in Manila from Sept 8 to Sept 11, but I would like to avoid a trip back to Manila after the wedding.
Could anyone tell me a good, cost-effective agent in the Zambo area that can offer assistance to me?

You can extend your 21 day/39 day extention up to one year without having to leave the country.
13a Non-quota Visas are rarely approved and that, along with tremendous difficulty. Everything in the Philippines, especially related to government, Immigration, City Hall, or anything else...often ALWAYS runs backwards and opposes any possible logic know to man.
Applying for it by yourself is practically fruitless and a mere self-torture experience. You will probably consider suicide after going through the forever-long red-tape process, which is often senseless. Being married to a Filipina makes absolutely no difference, unless she has a relative who works in immigration, the NBI, or is a senator (or something).
If you get an agent, he will probably charge you a fanatical high amount, and run away with your money. Welcome to the Philippines.
One of the best immigration attorneys around is:
Gerardo Jacinto
Generoso V. Jacinto Bldg.
341 J. Teodoro, Grace Park
Caloocn City 1400
2-365-2861
2-367-6823
Being the "land that logic forgot" it is a bit challenging to get in touch with him, with seemingly "out of touch" staff, but once you arrange a meeting, he will and can do the 13a Non-Quota Visa for you in a matter of weeks for complete papers, including re-entry permit.
The cost is around $3000 USD all-inclusive for everything. You don't have to nothing and go nowhere...other than an escorted visit to the NBI (National Bureau of Irony ) for a non-waiting-in-line fingerprinting-session, total of 30 minutes...and a visit to the Bureau of Quarantine, to which you bring a pre-filled urine and stool sample, take a small blood test and chest x-ray there. No line-up, no wait. Total of 45 minutes.
The attorney will arrange all transportation and escort for you. No worries. The final fingerprinting can be done in any hotel room in Manila where you happen to be staying for your final receipt of papers.
They need:
Your passport, a resume (doesn't have to be genuine ) a dozen 2x2 pictures of yourself, a letter from a Philippine bank that shows you have $40,000 USD deposited there (they never follow up on that, so you could easily wire the [spam word detected] out elsewhere as soon as you get your immigration papers around four weeks later)
Gerry will set it all up for you (except the monry, of course )

We can service your requirements very easily, we are not expensive and also we can advise you re your wife's future migration back to the US if that becomes necessary.
A section 13a visa does not cost $3000, that is inaccurate!
