I heard recently (from a policeman!) that an impending ordnance will mean that the owners of all the island's pretty little coloured sailboats will be forced to paint them white! I'm still checking the facts on this one, but what do you guys think? Boracay's attractive, colouful little boats, each with their own design and style have been here for generations, are popular with tourists, and add charm and colour to the island. They are possibly one of the most photographed aspects of Boracay. What would be gained by taking away their individuality?
For sure, get rid of the all pervasive telecom advertising all over the beach - THAT is what people have been complaining about! |

(my god, woman...you exist on every Bora board! )
since this post is pretty old and well before my time, I can only assume this has come to pass? All the small sailboats I see out there look the same - white with blue pontoons. Although some of the sails are different like the Jack Daniels one. |

| No Worries- Just Somebody's Bright Idea for Extra Income, probably happened during a drinking spree as various other alternative income stream ideas were hatched. Things like this pop up all the time in the Philippines but rarely are implemented nor followed because of the added costs involved and the free spirited self-determination nature of Filipinos in general. |
