My fiance and I are looking to move to Boracay Island this coming August.
So far it's been quite an excrutiating experience for us. The beach front properties we are looking at are exorbitantly priced. One beach house we were eyeing was price at Php115k a month for a large upper floor studio! And this price is for the Low Season Rate. Now is that fair? Admittedly the beach house is nice, but come on!
We are moving to the island for the main purpose of recuperating. My doctor prescribed me to stop working for a time and avoid stress. And I quote, "If you don't stop working you will die." So I will be on a forced sabbatical and will try my best to get better.
With that said, does anybody know of a beach front property or cliff side property we can lease for 6 months or more? We are keen on finding a beach house/villa/condo that house modern furniture, fixtures and appliances. Any ideas?
Maybe you are a property owner or you have a friend who owns such a property in Boracay?
Please help! We are running out of time. We only have roughly one month left prior to our scheduled move to the island!

Guests with Children; Boracay is a fantastic place for your children to become familiar with the beauty of "mother nature" in the Philippines and be introduced to many water sports and other physical activities inconvenient or not available in Manila or other larger cities. The rising cost of living in Europe, North America, N.E. Asia and large cities in developing countries make such activities expensive and difficult to manage for exhausted parents doing their best to make a living. Kids on Boracay can play on the beach, wander around, having fun, freely, in a safe environment without their parents worrying and only requiring their kids to be home for meals. Our daughter, Camilla, going on 20 years old now treasures her childhood memories growing up on Boracay. P45,000 / month for each of our two 2nd floor spacious, furnished, studio apartment sized units 10 meters from the beach, facing the sea, air-conditioner, Cable TV , large bathroom with bathtub, kitchen with refrigerator & rice cooker, screened balcony and barbecue grill and total floor area of 670 square feet ( 60 sqm ) and shared access to roof terrace with panoramic view of the horizon & sea.
Cost of Living Examples; We have a new charge for garbage collection, P250 / month or P2000 / year in advance. Cable TV 300 / month. water meters for each unit measure your usage but usually it's from P300 to P500 / month, same with electric meters for each unit which measure your usage usually from P1000 to P4000/ month but maybe cheaper depending on your usage of the AC ( 900 watts ) and Electric HOT showers ( 1000 to 3000 watts ) and internet access P500 to 1000 / month, and P250/ month garbage collection. Beer by the case( 24 bottles ) is P16 / each soft drinks by the case is P10 to P30 depending in size, rice P30 / kg, pork P / kg, fish P110 to P300 / kg, chicken P110 to P130 / kg and the majority of restaurant meals from P110 to P200+ to P470 to P1000 / U$2.70+ to U$5 for 3 local all you can eat buffets to U$11.50 for all you can eat daily buffet at the Boracay Regency 5 star hotel to U$25+ for Discovery Shores all you can eat seafood, sushi, sashime, European cheeses, whole grain breads and luncheon meats all you can eat buffet. Yellow Cab pizza has arrived and delivers. The nearby ANDOKS Chicken has expanded its menu and also sells sliced loaves of breads, bags of ice, liter bottles of beer and soft drinks with meals from P120 to P250. Local meals like a variety of rice toppings with rice from homecooked "turo turo" eateries and local meals served by Filipino fast food chain restaurants P40 to P75. Also local "lechon manok" roasted whole chickens can be found in the late afternoon/ early evenings for only P160.
SUB-LET OPTIONS; For those long term guests who are interested, we can accept short term bookings at our daily and monthly rates for your room which we keep 20% booking commission and save the balance for you or deposit it in your local bank account while you are absent. Taking advantage of this offer provides you with your own small "home on the beach" where you can invite friends or family or rent it daily when you're not staying or sublet it part of the year to make it even more economical. Or share one cottage room with a 2 or 3 other friends or family members so you get 3 or 4 months a year each, costing each of you only "pocket money" to hang out in "paradise". Also we allow and help our long term guests to customize their unit to suit their individual needs so they feel more at home.
Guests with Children; Boracay is a fantastic place for your children to become familiar with the beauty of "mother nature" in the Philippines and be introduced to many water sports and other physical activities inconvenient or not available in Manila or other larger cities. The rising cost of living in Europe, North America, N.E. Asia and large cities in developing countries make such activities expensive and difficult to manage for exhausted parents doing their best to make a living. Kids on Boracay can play on the beach, wander around, having fun, freely, in a safe environment without their parents worrying and only requiring their kids to be home for meals. Our daughter, Camilla, going on 20 years old now treasures her childhood memories growing up on Boracay. And now, Brent International School, with an excellent reputation, opened a campus on Boracay a few years ago
