Surely your predicament was truly unfair... But that doesnt justify everyones opinions and experience. I am 26yr old filipina whose also married but to a german guy. We have travelled all over asia for so many years and so many times befor finaly decided to lived in south america.... And i can proudly say, never in my entire life of traveling was i treated the same way u have been experiencing. Infact even though all is well where we are rite now, sure u can see the curious look on there faces wondering where im from and where philippines is...But i wud rather be in malaysia philippines singapore thailand and HK than anywhere else in the world. So my whole point is.... U only get treated like a prosti if u look or act like one. Have some sense?!

Hi There,
I just joined this forum today and find it interesting to follow up Sin_Yu's reply to the pinay in Malaysia.

Quite really sad that most pinays will experienced this awful feeling where people will scrutinise you because of your race.

I am not condoning prostitution in the Philiipines, but can you blame them?
You are probably lucky, and Sin_yu and myself but these women were living in poverty and not able to reach proper resources for them to be help.
In any country you go to, there is prostitution. Sin_yu's reply was, if you don't act like one then you will not be treated as one. This comment seems to warrant the negative perception of some people like you that women who dress in sexy clothes are looking to be a victim of rape and if they had been raped, its their fault because they are dressed inappropriately. this is why pinoy's like you why our country will never progress.

I lived in Australia for 16 years, I had incurred racist comments, stereotyping that I am married to an old man twice my age, a prostitute, and what more? a lot of degrading comments and offensive remarks.
I just shrugged off my shoulders, although I am married to a pinoy 1 year older and came here as a skilled migrant but still getting all those taunts.

I am pinay and proud to be one and will always be, unfortunately I need to lived in a foreign country to have a better life because Philippines will never changed because of the corrupt government, and that's why this is one factor that women needed to sell their bodies so they can live life to the fullest.
If pinay expats do experienced this prejudism and racism, just smile and fight back because these people are the ignorant ones who doesn't even know our beautiful country exist in the map.

A good example of this is our Miss International or Miss World last year who answered the question that pinays are caretakers or domestic helpers because pinays are very caring, loving and nurturing. she took it so positively instead of becoming so defensive that she won the title.
I asked pinays expat to join forces to defend your "Kabaro" back there in the Philippines.
Very Happy

Thats what we called "stereotype" people who's dont know or lack of knowledge about other people from defferent countries, assumed that all people in that country are the same kind, the same behaviour etc.

we can't stop other people's mind of what they are thinking about us,the most important is we know ourselves that we are not prostitute. life is too short to worry others people who's shallow minded. Twisted Evil

prostitution arises due to poverty, not only here in the philippines but also all over the world , not only by the Filipina itself but in different races. For sure this kind of work(prostituion) is not an easy task for them especially for a filipina one where in their culture cultivated of being a "mahiyain" or the so called "mahinhin".For sure some of you out there who are already living in foreign country right now been experienced to live and see how poverty and corruption having in our country since before until this moment. this is one of the primary cause of having prostitution all over the world. They have been on that kind of work, because they need to feed their kids, families.Support financially their kids and familiies.Very risky job especially for their health but they still used to work on it, sometimes as stepping stone, because no good opportunity comes on their way yet....but still they area human being who also seeking for a changes in their life..So much better we should help them,by giving them moral support /undersanding for them to be educate more , guidance so that they would able to overcome that situation they have in.For sure no one of us (WOMEn),would like to be on that kind of tough JOB.

I'm still proud to be a FILIPINA. Very Happy
