My husband and I are going to be attending Asian Seminary of Christian Ministries in Makati City. We are going to move to Makati City in May and our semester begins in June. We are soooo nervous - we have NO experience moving overseas (the closest I get is spending a semester in Europe!) and are also worried about the finances - we're definitely not rich!
Just wondering how much cheap but SAFE apartments are. Also, we'll have a cat with us... don't know if you all have the strict pet regulations like some apartments do here in the US. Where should we live? Should we be concerned with safety about our area? Will we be able to afford Internet? (We will have about $2000-$3000 USD income available a month, school is already paid for with scholarship) And are we going to be two lonely expats who don't make any friends?
And we aren't going to be able to visit the Philippines before moving there - is it smart to get living arrangements before we go? So far, we don't have any contacts or anyone we could stay with to get settled before we find a place. And do they have places that come pre-furnished? Because that would be awesome - but again, realize that we are very poor college students.

Makati is nice place where the foreigners live, of cource the rental is very high, but you can also find some apartment not so expensive and not so far from Makati. You can try to find in " Philippines vacation rental " there are many condo for rent .....I think your cat is not a problem just tell the owner.
Good luck.

with that income am sure you could live very comfortable here in the phils, an american friend of mine is paying a condo in makati for less than $500 a month, i am sure you could find something more less than that..
