This Philippines is a third world country and millions are without employment. For someone other than Filipino to live in the Philippines they would require a monthly income. I recommend at least $1,000 USD to have a decent life. Many can live off much less if they know the Philippines well and understand the culture.
Much can be learned by exploring my wife's and my web site at www.ricexpats.com We have a library of URL and hyper-links to hundreds of photos of the Philippines. We have shared video's and many of our own videos of the Philippines. You can get the most from the site if you pay close attention and check out all the different links.
Have fun and I welcome comments. Also if you have any questions, feel free to ask.
