I am new to Manila and I would like to find a live-in maid. If you know any reliable maid agency or referral service, please do let me know.

To me, the key criteria for a good maid are:

- English must be very good
- Honest, loyal, faithful (yeah almost a saint)
- Experience with taking care of small kids (4-6 yr olds) - but just part-time
- Good with house chores (mainly cleaning and laundry)
- Able to cook, but mostly just help out with preparation since my wife and I like to cook
- Good with direction and familiar with metro manila

The best way to find a good maid is to get a Filipino friend to find one for you. It's best if the Filipino friend knows the maid's family. This way you can be sure she's a "saint" and if she does anything bad to you, at least you can contact her family.
