Less than one month after a powerful blast ripped a shopping mall in Makati, a bomb exploded in the south wing lobby of the House of Representatives around 8:07 pm Tuesday.
Two died and eight people were injured in the loud explosion which occurred minutes after the Lower House ended its session.
Basilan Representative Wahab Akbar and Marcial Talvo, driver of Gabriela party-list Rep. Luzviminda Ilagan, died in the blast.
Among the wounded lawmakers were Ilagan and Negros Oriental Representative Henry Teves
Teves was brought to the New Era General Hospital on Commonwealth Avenue. Akbar was taken to the Far Eastern University Hospital in Fairview, Quezon City.
The Basilan solon died about 10:25 p.m. Akbar was elected governor in 1998 and was reelected to the same position in 2001.

Grabe, I cant imagine this is happening. If one of the most guarded places here in the Philippines like the batasan pambansa or the congress, has a bomb and succesfully detonated it, what more other places? are we really safe here? last few years ago, killings and bombings can be counted. now, killings cant be counted and bombing is just as eager to follow as well.
whats up with the world!?
I dont think we are safe anymore. what do you think? those guys have bodyguards. we dont. they were killed. those terrorist/plotters doesnt care about them, what more, us...? |
