Hello,
It is no longer news that expatriates living in PH have become the targets of kidnappings by militants based in the Niger Delta region, who are agitating for a fairer share of the oil wealth.
Here are a few security tips to avoid making yourself a target.
1) Try to limit late night outings.
2) If you must go clubbing, choose secure locations with several security points. Do not go to open clubs or joints. These are the favourite targets of militants.
3) Try to ensure you move with at least four to five security personel. Insist on your companies providing this. Just having one or two policemen sitting in front of your vehicle is never enough protection.
4) If you encounter these militants, please cooperate maximally with them. They are usually after money, not your lives. They only end uop shooting stubborn prisoners.
5) Try not to give out your movements to any of your domestic staff.
6) Do not live a conspicuous lifestyle.
Try these tips, and you will enjoy your stay in PH, trouble free.
