The name "EVEREST" is magic in itself. Everest ( 8848m. ) is called "SAGARMATHA" in Nepali – "Higher than the Sky" and "CHHOMOLUNGMA" in Tibetan – "Mother Goddess of the Earth". The quickest and easiest way to reach this region is by flight to Lukla at 2827 m. The Solukhumbu region has sweeping glaciers, magnificent mountains, forests, animals, birds, monasteries and is the home of the world famous Sherpa people. Sherpas are the real mountaineers of Nepal. In 1953,Tinzing Norgay Sherpa became one of the first men to conquer Mount Everest along with Sir Admon Hillary of New Zealand.
For an extended trek and experience of village life, we start the trek to this region at Jiri, a 10 hours drive from Kathmandu.
Itinerary for 14 days
Starting Point: Lukla (2800m.) Ending Point: Lukla (2800m.)
Days 01:
Kathmandu Lukla (2800m.) by flight. Trek Lukla to Phakding (2652m.).
Days 02:
Trek Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3440m.).
Days 03:
Rest day at Namche Bazaar for acclimatization
Days 04:
Trek Namche to Thyangboche (3867m.).
Days 05:
Trek Tyangboche to Pheriche (4243m.) / Dingboche (4530m.).
Days 06:
Rest day at Pheriche / Dingboche for acclimatization.
Days 07:
Trek Pheriche / Dingboche to Lobuche (4930m.).
Days 08:
Trek Lobuche to Everest Base Camp (5300m.) to Gorakshep (5288m.).
Days 09:
Trek Gorakshep to Kalapathar (5545m.) to Lobuche.
Days 10:
Trek Lobuche to Pangboche ( 3985m.).
Days 11:
Trek Pangboche to Khumjung (3790m.)
Days 12:
Trek Khumjung to Phakding.
Days 13:
Trek Phakding to Lukla.
Days 14:
Lukla to Kathmandu by flight.
