NIGHTLIFE IN NAMIBIA
Swakopmund is the adventure capital of Namibia and does not disappoint in nightlife either. Maybe not the London clubs you might be thinking of, but when you are in a tiny town with desert as far as the eye can see a bar with a DJ seems like a night out in Ibiza’s hottest clubs! Being a small town the more popular bars tend to change hands or undergo a face lift every few years to keep the townsfolk and passing travellers entertained.
Basically, entertainment in Swakopmund ranges from sophisticated spins on the casino’s roulette wheels, through raucous parties at the many pubs and restaurants, to an assortment of drama, music and cultural events.
The capital city Windhoek has a few gems hidden under it European/big African city exterior, with the city centre housing a few firm favourites. A memorable evening is starting off at Joes’ Beer House to tantalise your taste buds with a selection of Namibia's wild game meat, washed down with a selection of the finest beers to be found in Windhoek. If it’s a weekend then it is time to hit the dance floor at the ever popular club Ch ‘Ntemba.
Nightlife in the rest of Namibia constitutes small little bush pubs or village bars where a talk with the locals always promises an interesting insight into Namibia.
One of the most memorable nights 'out' is more often than not, a night of bush camping out in the open with the stars and the sounds of the wild, this is truly the best nightlife you will find in Namibia. |
