No matter what the nationality, San Antonio shopping is an international favorite and we are truly a shopper's paradise. Antique shops abound in the central city and in charming towns on the outskirts. Art galleries cover a wide spectrum of artistic achievements style from contemporary and western to Latin American folk art. Ten major San Antonio shopping malls are within an hour's drive of downtown. No serious San Antonio shopper would miss La Villita and Market Square in the historic heart of the city!

Antique Shopping

Looking for an antique armoire from the turn-of-the century German-Texas settlers, an eclectic item that recalls San Antonio's wild west days, a pristine Louis XV piece to add to your collection of European antiques, or are you just treasure hunting? There are antiques stores featuring specialized dealers as well as popular "antique malls" offer an interesting mix of items. Check the calendar, you are likely to find a show, fair or special market while you're in town. If plans call for day trips, a popular activity is antiquing in the charming towns of Comfort, Boerne, Fredericksburg, Castroville, New Braunfels, Gruene and Leon Springs. Most of these quaint early European settlements offer a diverse sampling of antique stores along their main streets.

With huge smokestacks, protruding beams and a factory design, this open-air mall still carries the architectural flavor of the former Alamo Cement Company - the site upon which this complex was built. It is home to : a megeplex, a gym, a grocery store and a myriad of restaurants, boutiques, entertainment venues and stores - including Old Navy, Restoration Hardware, Whole Earth Provision Co., Borders and more. 10 am - 9 pm daily.
