CLUBS & ASSOCIATIONS IN FINLAND

Jolly Dragon

Jolly Dragon is a Helsinki-based group which arranges a HUGE variety of sports and social events for anyone who's keen to come along. A sample of activities includes wine & cheese nights, karting, yoga, squash, swimming, ten-pin bowling, salsa nights... the list goes on. Apart from that, many of the activities are free and benefits include discounted entry and drinks in various bars and clubs. Their motto? Not surprisingly, 'Serious about fun!'

International English Speakers Association of Finland (IESAF)

The International English Speakers Association of Finland (IESAF) is a group of international people living in and around Finland who communicate in a common language: English. The purpose of the organization is to share different cultures, provide networking opportunities & social contacts, and offer information and discussion about everyday life in Finland.

University of Helsinki Debating Society (UHDS)

The University of Helsinki Debating Society (UHDS) is a club under the Student Union of the University of Helsinki. Every week debates are held on current issues and funny topics.

Helsinki Toastmasters Club

The Helsinki Toastmasters club meets on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month at 17:30. Members are a mix of Finnish and international professionals (mostly), who wish to practice their public speaking skills with a friendly and supportive audience.

The International Wine & Food Society (Helsinki, Tampere)

The International Wine & Food Society Helsinki Branch was founded at Restaurant Särkänlinna in 1987. Today there are about 120 members in the Helsinki branch, with more in Tampere.

The American Women's Club, Finland

The American Women’s Club in Finland was founded in 1970. Its mission is to provide a means for social interaction for women of American nationality or heritage residing in Finland. The club has over 200 members - half of these are American and the others are Finnish or International. The Americans are a diverse group who are married to Finns, stationed here with the American Embassy, or working or studying in Finland.
