SHOPPING IN AUSTRIA (VIENNA)

Mariahilfer Strasse
Vienna's most trendy shopping mile is the Mariahilfer Strasse which is located between the centre of the city and Westbahnhof. Here, hundreds of shops offer fashion, jewellery and accessories. You will find boutiques and department stores and, right next to them, film, video and computer shops. Between them are numerous restaurants, cafes, snack-bars and cinemas. Basically Mariahilfer Strasse is a one stop shop for everything you could generally need in Vienna!

Furniture and Homeware Stores
At the Imperial Court Furniture Depot (Mariahilferstrasse 88, 1070 Vienna) you can discover antique designer furniture from over the centuries. Interio, another furniture shop situated on Mariahilferstrasse 19-21, offers in contrast to that modern design trends at competitive prices. In the city center you can find further galleries and antique shops, international brand-name designers and the venerable Viennese auction house the Dorotheum (Dorotheergasse 17, 1010 Vienna).

Kärntner Strasse, Graben and Kohlmarkt
Around Kärntner Strasse, Graben and Kohlmarkt, elegant jewellery stores and boutiques can be found, alongside is the Ringstrassengalerie (Käntnerring 5-7; 1010 Viena), where many renowned jewellers and haut-couture designers have opened their shops. Recent additions to the Vienna shopping experience are Tiffany's, Bulgari and Diesel.

Steffl
Is your preference for department stores? - Then the "Steffl" department store (Kärntnerstrasse 19, 1010 Vienna) is the right place to you. It offers not only the pleasures of designer and luxury shopping, but also the SkyBar and an elegant Restaurant where you can relax after an exhausting shopping-trip and enjoy a fabulous view over the Stephansdom.

Flea Market & Naschmarkt
If you are looking for a unique present for a friend or something quirky and typically Viennese then you should not miss the Flea Market (Naschmarkt, 1040 Vienna) that opens its doors every Saturday morning and turns into a Mecca for collectors of curiosities and souvenirs. The Naschmarkt (Naschmarkt, 1040 Vienna) located next door offers a wide range of international delicacies and excellent quality fresh produce.
