I don't think it's a good idea to say "Oi lessen kopi ar lu?"
Two weeks ago some one did just that...I was just keeping in my lane and when he drove by he almost killed me with his look and I could make out the four letter foul word he was shouting out. If I had said that "Oi..." he might get out of his car and become violent shakng2
Saya takut Exclamation (I'm afraid)

that's why you need to have a faster car in order to do that Wink

Laughing it's useless to have a faster car when a 2 lane road became 3 lanes and he's trying to create the 4th by squeezing in where ever he could Rolling Eyes He needs to go back to "sekolah mermandu" (driving school) to get the proper "ujian mermandu" (driving test) because I'm sure he has a "kopi lessen" as you said Smile

Mppj, of course I wouldn't say that to guys like that...head lights might get kicked, but I'm just a little confused by your phrase.

Why is the word "punya"(own) used twice when it's only used once in the translation Confused Is it supposed to mean(you and your father own the road, uh?) = Lu dan bapa punya jalan ar?
"Lu" = kamu (you, your) Question
Can I say "Bapa kamu punya jalan?" or "Bapa mu punya jalan?"
What's the "ar" for ...just like la Question

It's more towards bahasa pasar, literally means 'market language' where we don't speak true blue malay. The usage of 'lu' (you) is the same as 'gua' (me). No idea where they came from.

My grandmother (Chinese) used to converse in something like this:

'Gua kasi lu 6 linggit ah... lu jangan tipu gua wor...' (I give you 6 ringgit, don't you cheat me ok)

Ar is just like La/Lah.

That 'lu punya bapak punya jalan ar' is not to be translated literally. But it feels good to shout it, "lu punya BAPAK punya JALAN ar?!?!" even if it's only in the sanctuary of your car where no one can hear it but you.

'bapa kamu/mu punya jalan' is too polite. the key here is to be as impolite as possible Very Happy Laughing

Ermm I guess someone else may be able to explain it better, my wits are failing me. Very Happy
