To all you DIYers out there, is the process straight forward enough to tackle yourself or would the RM1600 be well spent to avoid bureaucratic headaches? It would appear I meet the requirements and will have purchased a house before we make the application to reduce the deposit we have to make.

Looking forward to the move. The space is the key for us really. It's amazing to think that just across the causeway life can be so different.

hi,

There aren't any bureaucratic headaches.

All the information that you need for DIY is available at www.my2home.info

Buying a house only reduces the FD after 1 year as you can't apply to use up part of the FD until the end of the first year.

Thanks Scott. Between this site and yours it looks like I should have enough help to sort it myself.
