|

Hi there!
Recently I have applied for the spouse programme for my husband and I think it is still on the process. However, I heard from some1 if my husband application is approved and if he is working in Malaysia, he is not allowed to leave Malaysia unless it is a business trip. Is tht True???? In addition, he is allowed to go out only twice a year out of the country (tht also should be a business trip). So how about if we plan to go for holidays???? pls advice on this matter.
Thank you |

I am on spouse programme & I go out of the country twice a week sometimes. There is no problem at all entering or leaving.
You may be thinking of Permanent Residency where I believe you have to make som application before being able to leave, and that applciation was quoted as taking 7 months to be approved! :-) Presumably even for P.R. there would be some multiple entry system where you apply once & can then come & go as you like. |

Good day.
I am a Malaysian chinese girl and my boyfriend is a
Chinese guy from China. He is an engineer. We plan to get marry and stay in Malaysia. Attached with few questions which we are not
clear and need the advice from you.
1) Do we have to register in Malaysia ?
2) If we register in China, is the marraige
certificate regonised by Malaysia government ?
3) Can we use the Chinese marriage certificate to
apply for Malaysia visit pass ?
4) Is visit pass and spouse program the same ?
5) Is there any special rules for the foreign marriage
to be registered in Malaysia ? Where can I refer to in
order to get the procedures and regulations ?
6) For the documents from China, if we need to do
translation for any application, can we take local
malaysian to translate it ? Or please advise how
should we go about ?
7) Can we apply for the spouse program immediately after getting the marriage certificate or do we have to wait for a certain time of period ?
Looking forward for your reply.Appreciate very much
for the advice and answers. Thank you. |

Similar thing happened to me. My husband wasnt explained that he could get a Long Term Social Visit pass despite him informing that he is married to a Malaysian. We were instead informed that we can apply for Spouse Programe AFTER 6 months (min) of marriage and that before that, all we can do is to RENEW the 3-month social pass. I remembered him paying RM 100 every time he wants to renew it. On the second or third visit (dont really remember), we were told that the next time he renews, it will be the last time and that he has to get out of the country to get a new 3-month social visit.
If we knew that we could get a 6 month long term visa, we would have been very happy in fact.
Please advise.

The immigration has advised you to wait to be married for at least 6 months in order for your husband to apply for the spouse programme which entitles to a one year visa.
While waiting for these 6 months of marriage, there was either one of these two solutions to be considered: either leave Malaysia then come back to get a new social visa (usually for 3 months depending on the country of origin) or apply for special pass which is usually obtained on a monthly basis and up to 3 applications in a row can usually be granted.
If you do not ask the right questions at the immigration, they will not necessarily give you all the information you actually need. |

|

The Immigration Department has approved on the 5 years spouse visa application. Those who are interested may apply for the 5 years visa. But the 5 years visa comes with price which is levy payable for the 5 years to the immigration department could be high as RM10,000. The figure comes as Levy - RM1800 + Proses RM50.00 + Pass RM60.00 = RM1910 ( 1st year ) + RM7440 ( 4 Years ) = RM9350.00.
The advantage here is that those apply for this visa would automatically could apply for PR status.

Thank you for the information.
1. Does this apply to ALL foreigners married to Malaysian citizens?
2. Is it gender specific (applicable to males and females alike)?
3. Can i work under this Visa?
4. You say "qualify automatically" for PR, can you expand on that a little please
a. The PR is contained within the 5 Year Visa application?
b. Fees are covered by the 5 Year Visa application?
Thank you. Phil |
