Welcome to the Bahasa Melayu forum. This section is dedicated to helping us learn more about Bahasa Melayu and Malaysian Culture. Threads in this section should stick to these topics. The rules are the same as those for all the other sections of the forum, with one exception... sila gunakan Bahasa Melayu! (Please use Bahasa Melayu! Very Happy )

Because the idea is to help those who visit the site gain some knowledge of the language, or further enhance their understanding, please provide a translation below what you write in BM. Bahasa Indonesia is also welcomed and useful, but, please specify when you are using one or the other so that those who are learning will know the difference.

Anyway, I'm really happy that this idea has been welcomed by so many people. Below I will start some sticky threads to start compiling useful vocabulary and phrases. Please feel free to add! Very Happy

This is brilliant, especially if there it's open to correction by readers. My Malay is kamus/pasar Melayu. Malay and Mandarin are two languages I need to know better, so ace to you for starting this thread. Is it possible to write Manglish or must the translation be fully in Malay? Need it be a literary or linguistic translation? Can I just write speaking Malay?
Thank you.

Fikiran saya sangat cemerlang ( atau beriliant), istimewa adah -lah orang orang yang boleh membetulkan Bahasa Melayu saya sebab saya tulis pasar atau kamus Melayu. Tetapi, terima kaseh untok berlayaran benang ini. Kita mungkin tulisan Manglish atau menjadikan semua dalam Bahasa /Melayu? Perlukan buat sastera atau bahasa penyalinan ? Boleh kah saya menulisan chakap Melayu sahaja?

Ooops... I've forgotten the grammar rules for written Malay
men - for verbs
pen - for nouns
ber - for accidental
Is this in order please?
