Need a translation? Post it here, and hopefully a stampede of well informed locals and probably some less informed foreigners will come to your rescue! Wink

Hi guys,

Can anybody translate these sentences to malay for me? :?: Sorry for the long list. I would like to learn and speak malay faster.

Eg:
Good morning.
Selemat Pagi.

Eg:
How are you?
Apa Khabar baik

Where are you now?
When you will come here?
I am waiting here for you. Come quickly.
We sit and discuss and finalize it.
I come to your place and we discuss
When you will issue the document?
I need that immediately.
It is very urgent.
Can you do me a favor?
Can you help me?
Call me and tell me the status
Come to my place or give me a call.
I think this is not correct.
Call me if you have any problem

Thanks SUBCON for your time to translate this. Now it is my turn to read, understand and digest this.

I am afraid sometimes what I learn is not matching with what I hear around. People use many shortcuts. I mean the real conversation is not same as the formal sentences we learn.

Eg: I am just looking around.
Formal: Saya Hanya melihat-lihat sahaja
Actual : Saya tengok sahaja.

If I speak formal sentences, will people think i am from any other planet?

Daniel,

If you look at the heading of this forum,it is meant for Bahasa Malaysia only. If you leave your posting here, it may not garner much attention for what you want. Suggest you shift your posting to the General Section where it may attract more attention.

Thank you.

'It's not my fault you have such beautiful (beautiful indicating attractiveness in this context) eyes' - 'Bukan salah saya anda memiliki sepasang mata yang begitu menarik'. Let me break it down further:

'Bukan salah saya' = it's not my fault
'memiliki' = to own (an object), or to have
'sepasang' = a pair
'mata' = eye, or eyes when used with sepasang
'begitu' = such

I used 'menarik' instead of 'cantik' because 'cantik' alone is normally used to refer to a beautiful person. For example: 'Anda seorang wanita yang sangat cantik' means 'You are a very beautiful woman'.
