Dear All,

Thanks for sharing information about the cost of living in KL.

In one of the previous post by the gentleman from Pakistan, I understand that one of the reply said 3200 RM would be enough, however, in the same forum, quite some time back, one of the posts said 29% flat tax would be deductible for a foreigner.

Request you to kindly clear my doubt as to 29% on 3200, leaves just 2272 in hand. Will that be enough to live in KL, since I understand that 1K would be required for residential purpose and around 1000 for meals.

I have been asked by my prospective employer to quote a figure for me to be considered for next round of interview. If selected, I would be stationed at Kuala Lumpur.

I have 2+ years of testing experience.

I am from India, is single and wants to live a decent life, with occassional visit to pubs.

Also, car and other utlities are not of prime importance to me.

Please suggest, what should I quote.

Thanks

Dear Vince,

Thanks for sharing the tax details.

The position is of a full time employed testing professional with a MNC.
As such, I understand, will be there for a longer duration. However, I am not sure as to when would I be able to actually land there.
But will surely discuss it with the employer. Thanks.

Can you please suggest the cost of living a decent life without much of western style and looking into the fact that I am planning to get married this year.

I am not much keen to having a car, if motorcycle is cheaper, I will prefer it, else, public transport will be fine with me.

I look forward to a single room accomodation in Jalan Sultan Ismail, since the office is located there.

Look forward to your quick response once again.

Thanks

Hi all.. am new to this and find that this site is very helpful. however, i can't seem to find the correct answer for the income tax, (tried the hasilnet site too), so if i earn RM4300/month, how much tax should be paid?

I am

Married or Single: Single
Will spouse work: no spouse
How many Kids : no kids
Country you are coming from (Tax purposes) : Indonesia.

Apartment/House/Condo: fully furnished apartment or condo (if possible: bills are included such as electricity, water, etc)

How many rooms : 1

What part of Malaysia : KL area, not necessarily have to be in the golden triangle. as long as within easy public transportation coverage

Niceties you need in your home (broadband, air con, location, western style, etc) : broadband, western style

I'll be relying on public transportation (company will give fix amount of Rm1000/month). i assume it's a fair deal?

so if anyone knows about the tax that i should pay in Malaysia, i appreciate if you could inform me. I'm sure that i still have to pay taxes back in my home country.

and any suggestions on which part of KL i should look around for serviced 1bed apt or studio, with budget Rm1000-RM1200 (incl bills).

Much appreciated.
cheers

Cool
