March/April 2008 it will be 5 years in MY, enough for now, so I am going back with a fraction of the actual salary and a different cost of life, although I save to say that if you choose to have quality products, MY is more expensive. Only services, restaurants are a nightmare, actually food, households, cars, clothes are cheaper in EU than MY if you want to have good ones (which in MY are imported anyway).

The big difference is that in MY you cxan choose to live with 1000 rm or 10,000 rm per month, in EU this GAP is much lower and starts from much higher Wink

Well I go to Beijign in Feb 08. Slightly better salary, better housing allowance, and indexed allowance on cost of life. Problem is, I am not yet sure the 2500 euros a month will be enough to get a decent lodging...

Anyway, between going back to EU and trying something new, choice was easy Very Happy

2500 euro for the housing only you get something very nice, I was offered China/Beijing from 2009 which meant another extra year in Kl and minimum 3-5 years (a start up of a quite big factory requires this time if you want to see the fruit of your work)........too much for me and not worth to breath that pollution for so long.

For your wife will be an extra challenge, for you an easy change.

I've got a decent package back home, and most of all my CV with 5 yrs in Asia is a big appeal to get aventually another company, a CV with 10-12 years in Asia means: "expat forever".

Not ready yet, I have too many hobbies and collections back home Laughing

I have visited quite a few places, and the problem is when you go from 3 to 4 bedrooms, prices skyrocket... So I was thinking about living on the outskirst, near where many International schools are located. On the pollution side, that would be a plus, and I would have a garden and garage.
Not easy for my wife the time for her to get her Chinese driving license. Then she might actually enjoy it Very Happy

Expat forever... well in my group opportunities are numerous and worldwide now (even if most in Asia and China), and with several kids, living on an expat package makes life easier Very Happy
So going to the Chinese HQ makes sense for my future Wink
