Hi, can anyone please help with the procedure required to transfer ownership of a motorcycle in Sabah? Does it have to be done in KK?
Thanks,
Alan
PS the bike is already registered in Sabah.
I am only on a visitors permit. With International Drivers Permit...
Have certified copy of Visitors Permit from KK Immigration.
Does the bike have to be Inspected?
What Paperwork is involved?

Hi Alan

As long as the motorcycle is originally registered in Malaysia, u can do the transfer at any JPJ offices, normally located in the bigger centers like KK for example

Also if the bike was registered in another Malaysian State, u will need a Puspakom inspection report done in KK before u proceed to JPJ with the Registration card

If u have a foreign registered bike, I hope it was already in ur name before u entered Malaysia as the red tape is pretty intense, like a bond while the bike is in Malaysia, and u cannot sell it unless u pay an exorbitant tax...

Cheers
