Hi,

Do somebody know about importing furniture and other personal belonging once the MMSH has been approved?
Is it totally tax free?
What are the steps to take?
Is the sticker enough to not pay tax?
If not, what papers are required?

Thank you for your help

Hi,

I would advise you to check directly with the Immigration department or the Tourisme department.
They should be able to provide you with more information.

According to the Malaysian Customs site
http://www.customs.gov.my/html/eng/peng ... category=3
You can import household effects if " the importer is changing his place of residence from a place outside the Federation to a place within the Federation."

That sounds like MM2H applicants, but would be glad to hear from anyone who
has been successful.
I had no problem 15 years ago, but then I was arriving to work in KL,
now it is retirement.

I used A.Pickfords to move some household effects incl. a piano and they looked after everything delivering door-door. No taxes at all. That was last year.
