Hello all.
I want to gather some opinion with regards to the availability of international school in Johor:
1. Are there any immediate need for international school in Johor?
2. If yes, which education stream will be the most suitable?
3. For current expat which children studying in S'pore, are you willing to send your children to international school in Johor if there are good options available and at a cheaper rate?
I think that's all for the time being. To be frank, the reason i asked this question is that there is a strong urge by the Federal Government to open up a number of international school in Johor (both local and international brand) particularly in Nusajaya area as early as 2008. I'm entrusted to spearhead the initiative and is crucial for me to get the flavour and views from our expat. (Since local laws permitted only up to 40% local students).
I valued your opinions and thanks. |

currently there is only 1 reputable international school/
Fairview International School in Bandar Dato Onn.
Its popular among expats as it is definitely cheaper and more convenient than sending your kids to singapore

What about Seri Omega and Seri Utama?
They are also international school and most of the lessons are conducted in English. If I am not wrong, one of them is using the Singapore School syllabus. |

Hi there!
Sri Utama is the one that uses Singapore syllabus. It used to be quite a good school many years ago. However, the standard of teaching has dropped drastically in recent years due to the lack of students and experienced teachers. The school facilities aren't that great and some teachers can't speak English.
I would suggest Seri Omega International School. The school will be offering British syllabus, which provides better education. Moreover, it has strict rules unlike Sri Utama. Seri Omega is also an English-speaking school and the teachers are very dedicated.
Hope this helps!
