I know about Penangfon but they have not reached my area yet.
Streamyx is pathetic.
Often either down to dial up speed or down altogether........... |
There is PenangHome, but restricted to certain areas, condos etc.
I used it before I got Streamyx. It costs more and down easily when there's winds etc. So turned out Streamyx is more reliable. |

Some new private broadband players in the market...
http://www.persiasys.com/
http://eb.com.my
I am currently using eb.com.my
Pays RM49 per month for 1MB for 328 hours monthly. Cheap and good and hours more than enough for me. |

UPDATE : Digi broaband speed has been upgraded from 256kb to 1.5Mb. The monthly payment for Unlimited data plan remains at RM99 and RM30 for supplimentary sim card. Meaning the person who has the main line and get another line for RM30/month (an extra SIM card would be provided).
Unlimited data plan subscribers however need to register for the new Digi WIFI service. No extra charge is required.

I use MyKris too (available in a few apartment complexes) and it's been working sort of OK - after the speed slowed down to snail pace every day at certain times I complained and they shut down a few other users in my building and it's been better since then.
I'm moving soon and if I want to connect for a year the total costs per month (incl modem and installation) work out to:
Jaring RM205/mo
Streamyx RM196/mo (if they give back the 1075 phone deposit)
Given that both of them aren't particularly good, this is a shit choice.
The rules and prices on the respective websites seem flexible. All quote a RM99/mo fee but when phoned they have 'special offers' meaning it's 79/mo. Plus, the ridiculous 24 month minimum sign-up period they have is apparently also not a strict as it seems so those prices may be lower.
Remember Kosovo, that war-torn, impoverished European province? You have a selection of providers there that give you 5mbps broadband connections plus 50 uncensored TV channels all for less than €10=RM50 per month. And Kosovo doesn't even have oil or independence. Come on Malaysia... |

Well, then again organized crime is not so popular yet in this part of the world. |

So to conclude - help me please!
What is the best choice for fast speed overseas for P2P and gaming?
Price is no concern for me as long as the connection is good. |

gaming ? anything wired would do. I have been playing PC games online for few years on my 512kb wired Streamyx. As for p2p, i have no problem getting the files that i want, my pc is on 24/7 |
