Hi,
This is my first post on this forum. I am freshly graduated Dutchman and I will be in Penang for 2 months for an internship. Are there any more young interns/workers/students on Penang at the moment?
Cheers,
JW |

yeah bali was great... met a lot of nice people out there too...
but it was so hard to come back to penang after.... in fact compare to bali life is really expensive in malaysia... especially for alcohol !!!!!!!!
And the weather, it is rare to have blue and clear sky around penang ... seems to be always cloudy and foggy around penang !
But anyway we are back in the track !
for JW have u left ? |

Hi YNY
Depending on what yr interests are, here are some tips:
1. Spend a lazy afternoon reading in a cafe, and get to know the locals
2. Rent a kayak ( pref. with a friend ) and row out to Monkey Beach, or the little islands surrounding Penang ( check weather / directions and all necessary precautions 1st )
3. Cycle around the island / stop at waterfalls and fruit stalls along the way
4. Explore the Unesco-listed inner city of Georgetown, by foot (don't forget yr camera)
5. Day trip out to nearby Payar Island to see undersea corals via a glass-bottomed, anchored catamaran. Haven't been there myself so can't vouch for it...
6. Decorate yr crazy big apartment
7. Drive to the other side of the island and wait for the fishermen to return with their haul - freshest fish you can buy
8. Sign up to learn something new - yoga / martial arts / kickboxing / scuba diving / dance / language, etc etc
9. Hike up Penang's hills ( pref. with a group of like-minded friends )
...and etc etc
Hope the above helps |
