I am trying to find out exactly what life is like in Kuwait. Can anyone answer my questions as I have been reading contradictory information about social life and what to wear.
What can an expat woman wear? In Dubai I had to cover my shoulders and in Bahrain I had to cover up to my elbow. what goes here?
Is there any decent social life?
How do you all cope without alcohol or do you get it on the black market? |

| I haven't been here for long to talk about social life, but the norm on women wear here sounds more like what's in Bahrain. The longer you live, more you'd know about al'k'ohol scene <--as quoted by people at work. |

I have been here only since April and have not spent enough time in the Gulf to comment on dress code here versus other countries. I have to say, as a guy, I was pleasantly suprised by the way many women dress here as it is quite diverse. I work with many Arab women and a large portion of them dress no different than women in offices I have worked in around the world. As an ex-pat you get a pass so my short answer is not to worry about it if you are confident and don't mind the occasional glance.
Are you in Kuwait now? |
