For those interested in watching American TV while in Japan, I have a great option.
If you'd like to watch all of the television from back home while in Japan (or anywhere you have laptop), email me at slinged@gmail.com. I'll give you 24 hours of free viewing on my Slingbox in New York. It's connected to a TiVo (DVR) for digital recording of any programming you like.
The channels I have available are: CBS, ION, NBC, FOX, ABC, MyTV, The CW, PBS, A number of Spanish programming channels, MSNBC, CNBC, CNN, Fox News, Discovery, TLC, HGTV, Disney, Cartoon, Nickelodeon, TVLand, ESPN1 & 2, TNT, USA, TBS, FX, Spike, Women's Entertainment, AMC, Bravo, Lifetime, A&E, History, Sci-Fi, ABC Family, Comedy Central, E!, VH1, MTV, MTV2, Court TV, The Weather Channel...and a lot more.
Again, email me at slinged@gmail.com. 24 hours of free viewing to test out your connection and see the picture quality / features. If you're interested in subscribing, the cost of service is $100 / month (about 3600 baht / month) payable via Paypal.[/list]

Hi,
another - and cheaper - way to watch USA TV is to get a vpn account. What this does is it tunnels the traffic through a US IP address to your computer. Much like a proxy, but not quite. The vpn encrypts traffic and is viewed as secure, not with all the spam and theft you get from a free proxy.
I know about a service called watch usa tv. The website is http://www.watch-usa-tv.info/.
They are specialized on exactly this service, how to watch US TV shows online.

Well, I have this professional hosting/collocation IPTV service that specializes in IPTV delivery. They charge a $49/mo fee for guaranteeing me 2Mbps streaming bandwidth of my TW account. I have the full-subscription of 250 Ch. and I havent had any problems watching my TV thus far...DVD included so I can time-shift my programming. You can check them out at Habu.TV It is a little pricey for some...but how much is your TV worth to you?

Anybody a customer of a2bTV? I just did a demonstration and it worked well. Nice to see live baseball again. They apparantly set you up with your own satellite tv account that you access over the Internet. Hundreds of channels and pay per view, etc. The offer HD as well but the initiation fee is pretty expensive. It looked really nice on my flat screen though.

a2bTV rocks! Very nice customer support people too. They signed me up for my own DirecTV account, including NFL Sunday ticket. It's awesome having all the US channels while stationed in Okinawa. Keep in mind, it's best to have at least 1Mbps download speeds. I even tested out their HD system and it looked amazing on my 42" TV. (You'll probably want 2Mbps download speeds for HD.)
