|
|
I'm Indonesian with an American husband. We married in Hong kong through civil registry.
As we're expecting a baby, and plan to have delivery in Indonesia,we see the importance of registering our Hong Kong Marriage Certificate to Indonesian Government office,to enable us to apply for the baby's birth certificate.
Does anyone have any information's about the procedures,or documents we have to submit?
Thanks.
Any reply will be much appreciated.
Regards,

I'm in about the same position. My indonesian wife and I were married in malaysia.
I'll ask her tomorrow and see if she knows what to do. |

Well...I've been through it. It's really Pain In The A@@ to have to deal with some 'bad bureaucrats.
But some are really helpful. I had to pay nearly Rp.1M for my baby BC, the conspiracy of Civil registry high-ranking officers.
When I applied for her passport, the Immigration officer told me, that I don't have to pay a single cent for my baby BC, if I apply within 30 days after her birth...but I need to submit some documents by myself...regardless. So it doesn't matter that her father is foreigner, and our Marriage Cert. is in English. Because it’s legalized by Indonesian CG in HK.
And it took me almost 7 weeks to get her BC. But just took me 4 days for her passport...and paid only Rp. 200K.
I will probably deliver my next baby overseas. I just couldn't stand to deal with ppl who think that married to foreigner is like winning lotteries |

Tell me about it.
Same problems with local paper pushers making things hard work.
As luck has it I have a friend who is in the right place here and after telling him of my problem it vanished.
Seems he made a phone call to the office telling them that the next call would be from their boss if I didn't have the cert by the end of the week. |
