There are many accents and pronounciations found in balinese that can't be found in indonesian. I'll have to take a "quick-course" in english phonetics before i can explain how they sound properly.
The main differences to indonesian is that the balinese letter E and A is pronounced differently depending on it's position in the word. For instance, if the word ends with an A it will sound like a swedish or Danish Ö (english "UH").

- Maca (ma-tch-uh / matchuh)
The difference in pronounciation with the letter E is marked with e ´ or a ` like in french. An è sound like "uh"(same as A at the end of a word) and é sound like "e as in elephant"...i hope i didn't get the marks backwards..
- Fianceé
- Gègélan (guh-ge-laan)
Hope these small 'tips' may come useful to some of you taking on the balinese language.
