seems a bit high... there is a tendency for the estate agents to charge higher amounts of the expats.... do you have any local collegues in India that can help

Hi, I am also in teh process of relocating to New Delhi from London. Are you based in the UK, it will be good to connect... Let me know.

I work for an offshore IT Services provider in London and am in the process of a similar negotiation with my company.

Let's keep in touch, because if we both accept our respective offers we will be in the same position i.e 'Lost in Delhi'

Business in India

Postby Heaven in hands » Sun Sep 24, 2006 3:20 pm

Hi ..
Am 27/m from a small town in India and relocated to Delhi 4 years back. Its not very expensive as you mentioned but daily life would cost you around INR 30,000-35000 which would include your fuel, cable tv, internet, full time maid, 2 room house rent at Rs.15000 max.
I would suggest you opening up your company in Tax Haven land may be in Dubai or Gibraltar or many other options. Contact me for more at r_kejriwal@hotmail.com
Take care

:(
unfortunatly, the prices I got for 2 bedrooms in Defence Colony block C are very close to yours. 60 to70k a month if you take it on personal, a bit more if it's a company lease = 75. Then you can get the price down again by paying a year advance. But then again that's Defence colony wish seems to be a good area.
From one I gathered, prices have been going through the roof in the last year.
I'm moving to Delhi mid November to start the operations of an Events & Exhibitions Dubai based company. I'll be happy to meet whomever feels like chatting around a few drinks one evening. :)

the prices are quite high in south delhi...but if you guys explore a bit more you can get a good deal.
50 k Should be fine.
Try and bargain coz thr s a tendancy to rip off expats.
I am living in delhi frm last 8 years now and have lived in london and paris as well.
