My partner & I together with our young children are looking at a potential move from Singapore to HK for work purposes. Does anyone know what is the situation regarding defacto relationships when applying for visa's for HK? Are defacto relationships recognised by the HK authorities? Here in Singapore defacto (or common law as they call it here) is not recognised but we could get a long term social visit pass for partner & kids for the same duration as my employment pass after we made a statutory declaration and a letter from our embassy. Would appreciate any advice on the situation in HK.

It is the same set-up in Malaysia so like these other two with colonial pasts it might be the same in HK too but the best thing to do is check with the SG embassy in HK.

I checked with my UK embassy in KL before moving there and they were very helpful.
