It may be a requirement, for instance, that the contents of the document are translated from the original language to English language or into their country's own language, and that such translation also be authenticated by the respective departments.

US citizen with Costa Rica residence

I got my Costa Rica residency by following the same kinda rules for Honduras, such as Police Record Certificate, Birth Cert., passport fotos, and all that stuff. My question is if i apply for residency in Honduras do i need to go back to the last state i lived in in EEUU or does the police record and stuff come from Costa Rica. Maybe someone that went thru residence in Honduras can recommend a lawyer??
Oh yea, for CR residency i had to deposit a large sum of money in a CR bank, to cover 5years of living. Is there a similiar mandate for Hond.?

Yep did all that and got my residency in CostaRica. But liking to now reside in Honduras. So do i go to US consulate in CR to get the stamps or back to the last state i lived in EEUU.
I put a princely sum in CR bank to cover 5yrs. Nothing like that in Honduras?
If i fly from CR to Hond. is there an expiat visitor house or lawyer organization i can take a taxi too?

VISA TO HONDURAS

VISA

Required by all except the following (for up to 30 days):

(a) nationals from Australia, Japan, the EU, UK and the USA;

(b) nationals of Andorra, Antigua and Barbuda, Argentina, Bahamas, Bahrain, Barbados, Belize, Brazil, Brunei, Chile, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, El Salvador, Estonia, Guatemala, Hungary, Iceland, Kuwait, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Malaysia, Malta, Mexico, Monaco, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Norway, Panama, Paraguay, Poland, Puerto Rico, Qatar, Romania, San Marino, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, St Kitts and Nevis, St Lucia, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Uruguay, Vatican City and Venezuela.

(c) those in transit continuing their journey within 48 hours, except for those nationals who require special authorisation.

Note: For certain nationalities, authorisation will have to be obtained from Honduras before a visa can be issued.

DOCUMENTATION

Passport valid for 6 months from date of arrival required by all.

Note: It is advisable to have a return ticket, but not obligatory. However, visitors may be asked to prove how they plan to leave the country.

APPLYING FOR VISA

Application to: Consulate (or Consular section at Embassy)

Application requirements:

(a) One passport-size photo.

(b) Valid passport.

(c) Completed application form.

(d) Fee (payable by cash or company cheque).

(e) A stamped addressed registered envelope, if applying by post.

(f) In some cases, travellers may be asked to provide bank records, return ticket, travel schedule and proof of residence.

(g) For business visas, company letters giving full details and confirming financial responsibility for the applicant.

Time required to issue Visa

1 to 2, unless approval is needed from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Honduras, which can take up to 10 days.

Validity of Visa

Up to 90 days. A visa extension may be obtained in Honduras at the Immigration Authorities for both tourism and business.
