I understand that a person can obtain a passport from the Guatemala
government by contributing to the country in some way.
Can anyone point me to someone who could tell me more about this
and what projects in Guatemala a person can work with in order to
make a valid contribution? Missions? Charitable projects? Government
programs? I need contacts for these.
Also, does anyone here know of any law firms that work with those
who would like to obtain a Guatemala passport?
Please private message me with your answers only.
Thanks, FREEDOM |

After doing more research I found out that a person can obtain a passport by just living in Guatemala for two years.
Can someone point me to a law firm that can help a person accomplish this? I would prefer a law firm in Antigua, Guatemala to work with and
to work with a lawyer who speaks English.
Please private message me with the name of this law firm or with the name of a lawyer and their email address and phone number and DO NOT post it here on this thread.
Thanks, FREEDOM |

Hi Freedom,
I saw your post on finding information about getting a Guatemalan passport after being here two years. I was very interested in getting a passport as well, but the six attorneys that I have met with thus far indicate that I can only get a permanent residency status, and must use my US passport with a Guatemalan stamped page on it. However, I will get documentation, that can be used on its own without a passport to travel in the countries surrounding Guatemala. Please be so kind as to share the source of the passport info so I can get one too.
One thought though, I can't remember if I can in fact get a passport as a citizen, but can't have dual citizenship keeping my US citizenship, with of course the exception of marriage. And maybe adoption. Does anyone want to adopt me?
Thanks,
BJ in antigua. |
