I'm trying to find a way to ship a necklace to my girlfriend in El Salvador (Santa Tecla to be exact), and the USPS website says jewelry isn't allowed. Just wondering if this is true for all package carriers, and why? Are there ways around this? It's just a silver pendant and a chain. It's not like a massive diamond smuggling enterprise. LOL!
