An artist, writer, vocalist, thesbian; educated, healthy, able to multi-task, and with plenty of experience in household management, childcare (both formal and informal settings) who trully takes joy from his work, You have found the right person! (I'm something else... )
I have traveled in Asia and all over the United States. I was born in Germany and am a student of cultures. Whether you're looking for a companion , a driver, a tutor or a bodyguard for your family. I'll rate a check on all of the above!!
In 1990, I began working for the YMCA in their outdoor/indoor Summer Day Camps. I worked in many private homes, providing not only excellent childcare, but total household management.
While in service to the above organization I was trained in First Aid, CPR and became a Lifeguard. During the period of 90-93, I attended College, majoring in Elementary Education and minoring in Child Psychology.
Later, I moved on to the Residential Camping experience and eventually became a Group leader, specializing in kids ranging from 5-12, and handling up to 10 staff members.
While with the YMCA, I was afforded the opportunity to attend classes on discipline, activity planning, swim instruction and child based learning. I have been Site Supervisor at and piloted the K.A.O.S. program.
Eventually, I was made Child Care Director.
I left there for New York in 2000 to care for am elderly friend with Alzhiemers. She has since passed, and I have been working as a Freelance Artist.
As an Aupair, I have dealt with so many of the problems involved in parenting and always tried to seek creative solutions to family relation difficulties. I've worked with single parent families, multiple children, twins and even triplets. I have both live-in and live out experience and also do light housework/cooking etc...
Many people ask about the families I've worked with and my Manny-style. I'd say that my technique is sort of a cross between M. Poppins and The Pacifier. (I am interested, specifically Upper and Lower Egypt)
Currently, I am working with a family in Beijing, China. I will be available in the latter half of 2008.
In case you were wondering, yes, I'm gay, study Buddhism and am vegan
