Expatriate Forums in Dubai (UAE)

Hi, I moved to Dubai about a year ago and posted on one of these forums - not sure if it was this one...

I'm not looking for anything special - drinkin' buddies just about covers it.

I don't care if you're a guy, a girl or a half-robotic ape that wants to rule the world (though if you're that last one, we should definitely meet up, because I've got plans...).

I don't care if you're fat, thin, tall, short, black, white, brown or green (or to paraphrase Mitch Hedberg - screw you green people !)

I don't care what country you come from, though it would help if you speak English - preferably in a slurred fashion with a lot of profanity and make references to TV shows that raised you in the 80s. If you were raised on a steady diet of the A-Team, Airwolf, Street Hawk and Transformers we'll probably get along just fine. Same goes if you like to complain about how the Simpsons just isn't as funny as when you were kids.

The crappy part of my setup is that Fri's my only day off - so ideally I like to get tanked on Thu and keep it mellow on Fri.

I haven't taken anything seriously in the last 27 years, help me keep the streak running for another 27. In return I promise to try and disgust you with stories I've read in Snopes and Wikipedia.



P.S. When I say 'nerd' I'm covering multiple subsets - all I mean is that my hobbies generally won't involve anything more strenuous than hauling my lazy ass to the bar for another drink.

I think I'm in the same position as you i.e. used to live here, all my friends have moved to parts unknown (or known and really far away).

Are you in Dubai proper or someplace else in UAE ?
