Immigrating to the DR is very easy you can apply for residence it takes about 4 months for temporary and one year later you permanent residency. Lots of people that I know just come here and settle down and no body bothers them. When they leave the country they pay for back immigration and leave.

What particular do you need to know? I can be as easy as getting on a plane and flying here and staying. If you want residency you can apply and within 4 months you will have a temporary residency. You can buy property here and build very reasonably but use a lawyer to check that the person really owns the land. Bring your personal belongings if you have your residency it is much easer.
I moved here six years ago and found the transition very easy. I move money via the internet to my credit card and use my credit card in money machines to get cash.
There are many areas that have a lot of expats and also other forums in English that are DR based.
What area do you need information for legal, housing, making the move give us more of an idea what area you would like information.
