I would like to take the chance to let you all know how easy, cheap and comfortable can be to rent a house in Cuba. I stayed in Havana in http://www.cubarent.co.uk/house.aspx?IdHouse=Casa%20Raul&Idlocation=Havana%20City
This mansion is called Casa Raul and you just check the pictures and will see why I bothered to write a review on this forum.
Great see views, excellent food, definitely better than the local restaurants. I admit that this house was kind of luxurious but I am sure that the there are some others that can be more affordable check http://www.cubarent.co.uk/ for other houses in Havana, Trinidad …
You can either share or rent the entire house for yourselves. The best thing is that you can invite locals to your place and no hassle at all from the landlord.
