I will be relocating to Beijing in mid October. I have contacted the real estate agent and they offer a few 1 BR apartments:
1. Fortune Plaza
2. Central Park
3. China Central Place
4. Jianwai SOHO

In late November, our company is moving to the Beijing economic-technological Development Area (BDA) and I heard it's quite far from the CBD.

Can anyone suggest the most economical transportation, cost, time and convinent. Also, is the places suggested by the real estate agent a good location?

Thanks & regards,
Bernard

Bernard hi,

is the CBD a good location for what?

To get to the Dev Zone - NO!

For after work and weekend R & R - is OK, depends on what you like doing. You might be better off looking at a different location such as Lido Area or Chaoyang Park Area. It depends of course on taste and budget.

I don't know your budget but I suggest that you delete Soho from your list.

From your list, my choice would be Central Park.

The question is simple do you want to live close to work, close to play or somewhere between the two?

Will they being providing you with a car and driver?

BTW - I am not an Estate Agent . If you need a reputable one I can recommend some that I have used and found to be honest. Assuming that your budget is over about 5,000RMB then the Estate Agent will not charge you for his/her service. they receive a commission from the Landlord.
